RESERVATIONS

HOW CAN I MAKE A RESERVATION?

All reservations must be made directly through our website's home page, which will direct you to OpenTable. OpenTable reflects our full availability up to one year in advance and allows bookings for up to 10 guests. To preserve the intimate nature of our tea service, we are unable to accommodate parties larger than 10 guests during normal business hours. For private event inquiries, please visit our Private Events page.

Sweet Marie's Tea Cottage is not responsible for multiple reservations made under the same or different names. If multiple reservations are submitted and not canceled within the required notice period listed below, the additional reservation will be treated as a no-show and charged accordingly. Please review your confirmation email or text message carefully and contact us promptly with any changes.

CANCELLATION POLICIES

WHAT ARE YOUR CANCELLATION POLICIES?

Cancellations or changes to a standard reservation must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid fees.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will incur a $40 charge per guest.

Reducing the guest count with less than 24 hours notice will incur a $38 charge per guest.

No show reservations will be charged $50 per guest covering the payment for the prepared tea service plus transaction fees, tax, and gratuity.

ARE THERE SEPARATE CANCELLATION POLICIES FOR LARGE GROUPS?

Groups of 6 or more are considered a large group reservation and are subject to separate cancellation policies.

All of the above cancellation policies apply with a minimum of 48 hours notice.

ARE THERE SEPARATE CANCELLATION POLICIES FOR HOLIDAYS AND SPECIAL EVENTS?

Holidays and special events are subject to separate cancellation policies.

PRICING & PAYMENT

WHAT IS THE COST OF TEA SERVICE?​

Brunch and Afternoon tea services are priced at $38 per guest.

Please note that all prices are subject to change. We kindly ask that you review our website prior to your reservation, especially if booking well in advance, to ensure you have the most up to date information.

Additional fees may apply for gluten free, dairy free, vegan, and combination menu modifications.

Walk in service is priced à la carte.

Tax and gratuity are not included in the Prix Fixe or à la carte prices.
HOW CAN I PAY FOR TEA SERVICE?

Payment is made in full at the end of tea service by cash or credit card, with a maximum of two credit cards per table.

We do not split or itemize checks per guest and we are unable to split payments between cash and credit cards.

A 20% gratuity will be added to parties of six or more.​​

​ ​ ALLERGEN & DIETARY ACCOMMODATIONS
DO YOU OFFER ALLERGEN FRIENDLY MENUS?

We are pleased to offer modified menus for guests with common allergies and dietary restrictions, including vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free, vegan, and nut free selections. However, we are not a dedicated allergen free restaurant, and we do not operate an allergen free kitchen. While we take great care in preparing modified menus, we cannot guarantee the absence of allergens. DO I NEED TO NOTIFY THE RESTAURANT IN ADVANCE OF MY ALLERGIES?

Advance notice is required for all menu modifications and can be submitted at the time of booking.

Please be as specific as possible (“1 gluten free, 2 vegetarian, 1 dairy free”) to ensure we prepare accordingly.

If a request was not submitted at the time of booking, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance.
CAN I REQUEST AN ALLERGEN FRIENDLY MENU WHEN I ARRIVE?

We are unable to make any menu modifications on the day of service. If advance notice was not given, guests will be served the prepared traditional menu, and full payment is required.
CAN I REQUEST A FULLY CUSTOMIZED MENU?

While we offer a variety of modified menus, we are unable to create fully customized or ingredient specific menus. Guests must select from the available Prix Fixe menu options only.
ALLERGEN NOTICE : Our menus include products that contain or may contain tree nuts, peanuts, dairy, wheat, eggs, and berries. We also partner with local vendors and bakeries that use these ingredients in their products. Our staff and partners are trained to minimize the risk of cross-contamination in allergen friendly offerings. However, we cannot guarantee that our products are completely free of these allergens. Guests with food allergies should be aware of the potential risks before dining with us. If you have any concerns, please reach out to us before your visit, and we will be happy to discuss your options.

GENERAL INFORMATION
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
We are located at 7 Main St, North Kingstown, RI, 02852 in historic Wickford Village.

IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE?
Parking is available in the nearby municipal lot (just a 3-minute walk) and along the street on Main St, W Main St, and Brown St. We recommend arriving early to allow time for parking and exploring our local merchants.
IS THERE EASIER ACCESS INTO THE TEA COTTAGE?
Guests with accessibility needs are welcome to use our side ramp for easier entry into the tea cottage. While the ramp does improve access, please note that it is not fully wheelchair accessible as there is a small lip at the threshold that may require a slight lift. If you or someone in your party would like assistance or have specific accessibility needs, please contact the restaurant in advance. We're happy to ensure your visit is as comfortable as possible.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR MY RESERVATION?
We recommend that guest arrival be a minimum of 15 minutes prior to their scheduled tea time. Seating begins promptly at 9:55 AM, 11:55 PM, and 1:55 PM.
DO YOU WELCOME CHILDREN?
All ages are welcome. We offer a children’s menu for ages 10 and under by request at the time of booking. Please note that every seat in our tea room is reserved and priced at $36. We do not provide high chairs or booster seats, and we kindly ask that younger diners are prepared to enjoy a relaxed, seated tea experience. Infants in carriers or strollers who will not be occupying a seat do not require a reservation charge. We kindly ask for advance notice if additional room is required to accommodate your party and surrounding parties comfortably.
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
We invite our guests to tailor the experience to their personal preferences. Arrive in formal attire for an elegant occasion, or opt for a casual ensemble for a more relaxed visit. The choice is entirely yours.
DO YOU ALLOW TAKEAWAY BAGS FOR LEFTOVERS?
Takeaway bags will be offered for any menu items you wish to bring home. We do not offer takeaway boxes or hot cups.
DO YOU SELL GIFT CARDS?
Yes! Gift Cards are available to purchase at the tea cottage during normal business hours. We do not have online purchasing and we are unable to mail gift cards.
